I am very pleased with the success of my recent hip replacement operation carried out by the excellent Mr David Hartwright, whose consultations before and, particularly, after the operation were extremely thorough, caring and informative. Many thanks Mr Hartwright and Sarum Road Hospital.

I had a left total hip replacement May 2022. I cannot tell that my new hip is a replacement one, in the sense that it feels 'normal.' Mr Hartwright has given me my life back. I went from being on maximum pain killers, a walking stick, and finding it very difficult to walk, to being able to walk several miles with ease, and I am now back at the gym again (with Mr Hartwright's approval), doing exercises to keep my muscles strong. I have just finished 2 hours of gardening. My scar is extremely neat and discrete, unlike some of the horrors that are portrayed online, and much of it has now faded. I was 55 when I had the procedure. I have osteoarthritis. Pre op it would have been useful to have instruction on how to get in and out of a shower over a bath safely post op, and the same with a bath. I would say that it is extremely important to follow the exercise regimen prescribed, pre and post op.

I had my hip replacement 2 years ago. I was in a great deal of pain but still very worried about having my first operation. Mr Hartwright put me at my ease, explained the procedure and listened to my concerns. The operation went very smoothly and the whole team were wonderful and really cared for me. I am now pain free and active again, thanks to Mr Hartwright's skill, and am very happy I put my trust in him. I would recommend going to him without reservation.

After month's of constant pain from my right hip i saw Mr David Hartwright in May of this year.He explained the procedure and side effects with great detail which straight away put me at ease. The operation was in june of this year. This is the first major surgery that i have had and from start to finish the procedure and professionalism was excellent. I would have no problems in recommending him to anybody because his care and knowledge is outstanding.Steve Gardener.

I had a left hip replacement on the 5th June 2023 with Mr Hartwright and his team. I was treated with the utmost care and attention from the very first consultation. He took great care to review my health and carefully explain the procedure and what to expect. Mr Hartwright visited on the morning of the operation to again explain the procedure and check I was happy. Visited again post op to check and review. Two further post op meetings to check upon progress, explaining the mechanics behind the replacement and offering advice and support. I had a slight chuckle at his excitement and delight when showing me the exact measurements and perfect positioning of the joint. He was even happy to explain the X-Ray to my 6 year old son who was keen to be educated. I have waited a week before placing this review as I wanted to think hard and come up with any critical observations to help the reader and Mr Hartwright and his team, but I honestly cant come up with anything. It is obvious the man is a professional, knows what he is doing and clearly cares for his patient without a sniff of arrogance. One last thing; he remembered me. Of course he would have read my notes beforehand and it was only 6 weeks from start to end, but it does make you feel valued.
